AIM participants are involved throughout this social enterprise process. This includes participating in the planning, learning to make the range of products from scratch, working in a team, experimenting with ideas, quality control, packaging and sales.
Skills taught, include:

Recycling ideas - potential products and opportunities in general
-
Making the products, eg. Handmade paper, beeswax wraps, bath bombs
(foot soaks), dyed tissue paper, pressed flowers, card making/designing,
notebook covers
-
Business skills: Currently developing a basic business skills programme which includes budget planning & book-keeping, sorting & selecting, packaging & sales, marketing & promoting
-
Personal skills, eg. building confidence & self-esteem, problem-solving, communication, team building

Products from our unique artisan gift range, Aroha te Ao / Love the World, will soon be ready to sell to the general public. All sales go back into the business. This will allow us to keep improving and expanding the range, as well as the learning experiences.
